What is the ETF Business responsible for?
Franklin Templeton launched its first ETFs in Europe back in 2017 focussing on Smart Beta strategies initially but also looking at Active ETFs and plain-vanilla building blocks to give investors a panel of solutions depending on their objectives. This is still a new initiative for our business which is deeply committed to make it a success. This is a newly created position based in Italy focusing on supporting our existing local ETF sales force in order to help to sell our ETF proposition to investors. The ETF Sales Support will work very closely with the existing ETF Sales Teams.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the ETF Sales Support?
Build in depth knowledge of existing ETF range + new products
Building strong relationships with existing local teams in Italy + European and Global Teams
75% of the time focused on internal activities and 25% focused on external sales targeting tier 3 clients and IFAs to start with. With object to arrive at 50%/50%.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create and manage Italian ETF AUM Database, and Client identification process
Follow IFAs Clients, building a database, manage physical presentations, roadshow, and mailing marketing. The role will evolve also to tier 3 clients.
Preparation of email teasers (on specific products, but also on broader topics and asset classes) as directed by the local salespeople and the broader team
Preparation of individual presentations & client appointments (including physical client appointments but also the increasing importance of webinars)
Evaluation of Morningstar fund of funds holdings
Regular Reporting
Conducting competitive analysis of local ETF market
CRM maintenance (e.g. answer post meeting feedback to clients, entering information about past appointments; keeping client lists e.g. for the ETF newsletter)
Completion of lists (ETF product lists requested e.g. by databases and clients)
Translation of English content into Italian
Responding to client requests in terms of client service: sending documents to clients (factsheets, product presentations, KIIDs, EETs, flyers); making appointments
Participation to internal macro updates, the outcome of which should be shared with colleagues and made available to our customers
Quality control of external databases to ensure that our ETFs and their information are stored correctly everywhere
Liaison with other ETF Sales Support member
Prospection & Appropriate follow-ups: Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs)/ Smaller Independent Asset Managers, Savings Banks, Cooperative Banks.
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Completed Bachelor's degree (preferably completed Masters degree) with focus on business administration, international management, finance, economics
Rigorous and have strong presentation skills and IT knowledge (Excel and PowerPoint is essential)
A previous experience in an investment management company, bank or Management Consulting
First language is Italian and fluent in English both verbal and written. You will communicate with the group's headquarters in California, and other international offices on a daily basis
Experience with MS Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
