In our cross-functional product teams, Software Engineers work directly with Product Managers and UX Designers to build our customer journeys and services. We are a true Fintech with a strong engineering culture and focus on innovation and agile methodology. We have an excellent Developer Experience and use a modern AWS-based serverless web stack including SST, ReactJS and Typescript.
As a Software Engineer at Wealth Wizards you are empowered to own the full lifecycle of the software you create: designing the system, writing code, building automated tests and running the system in production.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to develop the standard front end components of Wealth Wizards bespoke web applications and products providing automated online financial advice.

As a Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining our innovative financial advice platform, contributing significantly to our mission of making financial advice accessible to everyone. You will report directly to the Lead Software Engineer and work collaboratively with Product Managers and other team members to deliver high-quality software solutions. 
You will contribute to design discussions within the team, write code, pair with others, review PRs, solve problems, and ensure a high standard of quality.

What you'll be doing

• You will assist in the delivery of creating innovative world-class, web applications built on excellent architectural design.
• You will manage the Wealth Wizards component library and design system.
• You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of reusable and configurable custom React components.
• You'll be responsible for the coordination of design system and component library upgrades across multiple teams.
• You will understand the requirements of Wealth Wizards tenants branding and design systems.
• You will organise and prioritise development work within an Agile team environment.
• You will actively follow, advocate and accept guidance on best-practice to ensure software quality, security and integrity without compromising agility and innovation.
• You will write comprehensible, well-tested code with an eye towards maintainability and scalability, never compromising on quality.
• You will build, support, and maintain products that are continuously delivered into our production environments.
• You will work closely with the Lead Software Engineer and the Product Manager.
• You will build and integrate standalone service-oriented (SOA) components.
• You will share ownership for team status board.
• You will adhere to all Information Security policies and procedures.

About You

Your Experience

• You have experience building front end components and utilising CSS (or equivalent). 
• You have experience with React or a similar front-end framework.
• You have experience delivering commercial products in a relevant software language; Typescript (preferred) or Javascript.
• You may have exposure to serverless architecture, preferably with Amazon Web Services, 
   utilising JSON/REST APIs.
• You have experience in Continuous Delivery and Software Testing within a commercial environment.
• Portfolio of live sites and/or open source projects.
• You will have experience with Git Workflow, understanding code branches and trunk based development and reviewing merge requests.
• You will be effective at communicating and balancing dependencies and priorities with interfacing teams.
• You will have experience working within product delivery teams.
• You can follow and balance idiomatic standards with company architecture principles.
