Product Owner Salesforce - Chicago, IL

Role Purpose
Operating within the Global Commercial Excellence organization, the Salesforce Product Manager owns the product backlog, roadmap execution, and user experience for defined Salesforce domains (e.g., Sales Cloud, Experience cloud, pipeline management, account management). The role acts as the critical link between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring delivery of high-impact, adoption-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Roadmap Execution

  • Own the Salesforce product backlog for assigned domains, ensuring alignment with global CRM strategy
  • Translate strategic priorities into a clear, actionable quarterly and annual product roadmap
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps across quarterly and annual planning cycles
  • Balance global standardization with critical regional or business-specific needs
  • Prevent scope creep and manage dependencies across teams and features
Requirements & Solution Design
  • Gather, structure, and prioritize business requirements from global and regional stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional designs
  • Partner with IT, architects, and developers to design scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with global data models, process standards, and architecture principles
Agile Delivery & Release Management
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization in collaboration with scrum masters
  • Act as the primary business representative in agile delivery teams
  • Validate delivered functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate global releases, including testing, deployment, and communication
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog to maximize business value
Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Salesforce-related enhancements within assigned domains
  • Drive alignment on competing priorities, trade-offs, and align stakeholders on trade-offs and decisions
  • Support regionally assigned business users and champions on day to day issues
  • Support and further develop global data stewards and global change champion network
  • Collaborate closely with Business, GT and OCM team
User Experience & Adoption Optimization
  • Continuously assess user experience and identify opportunities to simplify workflows
  • Incorporate field feedback into product enhancements
  • Partner with enablement teams to ensure successful rollout and adoption of new features
  • Monitor usage metrics and drive improvements in user engagement
  • Global User support
Maintenance, Deployment & Continuous Improvement
  • Support global Salesforce maintenance and regional deployments, including acquisitions
  • Evaluate new Salesforce features and ecosystem tools for potential adoption
  • Partner with GT on development, testing, and release readiness

Qualifications & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, CRM management, sales operations, or related roles
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce (Sales Cloud required; additional clouds a plus)
  • Proven experience working in agile delivery environments
  • Experience in global or multi-region organizations preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes (lead management, pipeline, forecasting)
