Job Description

Owens-Illinois General, Inc. seeks in Perrysburg, OH to supervise engineering staff who will be involved with scoping, estimating, design, selection, inspection, and construction supervision of furnace refectories. Perform and mentor other engineers on furnace audits. Report furnace campaign life assessments. Follow-up with necessary hot repair documentation, solutions to issues, and supervision. Interface and recommend design improvements within furnace design group and other disciplines. Provide significant input on global furnace standards including design, new refractory selections, and construction practices. Assure all designs meet life expectancy, quality, scheduling, and budget requirements. Present to furnace team, project teams, and plant and corporate management.

Qualifications

Must have Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Ceramic Engineering or related field, plus 5 years of experience in glass furnace design.  The 5 years of experience must include 2 years of experience with hot repairs and construction supervision. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent), we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) earned through any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience, as determined by a professional evaluation service. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel required, to be reimbursed by employer. In addition, standard benefits will be offered. 

Work Hours: Full time (40 hours/week, 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri) 

Additional Information

The expected salary for this position is $106,753 per year.
