Kaizen Technician

Overview

The Kaizen Technician duties include to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity (Efficiency) for plant wide cost savings activities. Working for the Operations Excellence Engineer, support continuous Improvements activities across the plant. 

Responsibilities

• Create a Safe working environment to comply with all Safety Regulations. 
• Demonstrates and promotes Safe working habits and conditions. 
• Demonstrates and promotes good work ethics and positive attitude. 
• Knowledge and comprehension of TPS system – familiar with the 7 Wastes and Experience implementing easy, low-cost solutions to drive rapid improvement on the shop floor. 
• Knowledge and comprehension of Stop, Call, Wait process. 
• Knowledge and understanding of Standard fabrication processes. 
• Ability to Fabricate Fixtures, Carts, Equipment as needed to support Kaizen improvement on the Shop Floor. 
• Communicates with Team Leader on issues throughout the shift. 
• Use of hand tools during fabrication. 
• Use of forklift as needed for kaizen projects. 
• Use of Boom / Scissor lift to perform kaizen projects. 
• Use of welding equipment for fabrication / repair of kaizen projects. 
• Use of Lathe, drill press and cutting saws for kaizen projects. 
• Perform other duties and assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, Trade Technical School, or College Education.
• Basic TPS Knowledge, Muda, 5S, Lean Principles
• Safety First mindset. 
• Minimum experience of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Excellent attendance 
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel 
• Excellent communication, organizational and troubleshooting skills. 
• Demonstrate and cooperate in a team building environment, ability to work with and influence front line employees to implement rapid improvements across the plant. 
• Fabrication knowledge and design practices.
• Mechanical Hands-On Skills
• Welding Experience.
• Able to multi-task. 
• Flexible with overtime with little to no notice 
• Flexible to change shift for tasks or training purposes as needed. 
• Open minded to changes (Change agent) 
• Driven to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
