- Provide technical project management support to the software engineering process from concept to production.
- Interface directly with Turion's customers and partners to provide direct project management support for high-complexity projects and programs.
- Interface directly with internal stakeholders including Payload Engineering, Flight Software, Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC), Mission Operations, Spacecraft Engineering, and more.
- Manage the Ground Software Team's Jira board and Agile sprint planning process to ensure strong alignment between company vision and team execution.
- Synthesize product feedback into a cohesive repository of feature requests and bug fixes and partner closely with Ground Software leadership and company executives on prioritization.
- Implement and improve team process and SOPs around planning, execution, releases, customer trainings, root cause analyses, and more.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, resources, and budget. Define project deliverables and milestones and associated documentation.
- Ensure team's focus on productization of capability ensuring discipline around testing processes, documentation, change management, release notes, and more.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications- 2-5 years of technical project management experience in a fast-paced environment with experience with project management methodologies (Agile) and tools including Jira, Gitlab.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Detailed knowledge of the software development lifecycle at the conceptual level including development, prototyping, unit testing, user acceptance testing, and continuous delivery.
- A practitioner of servant leadership - low ego with a mindset of doing whatever it takes to enable the teams around you to execute at the highest level.
- Comfortable in high-pressure situations with steadfast composure
- Demonstrated experience helping level up software engineering teams by working in close proximity to high-complexity projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to seamlessly flex across Turion's hardcore engineering startup culture and large enterprise customer including the US Government and commercial entities.
- Flexibility to be on call and work extended hours or weekends as needed to support mission-critical operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to be on-site with customers, attend conferences, and other forward deployed activities.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.
- Love for all things software, ideally with some prior software engineering experience - while you won't be writing code regularly at Turion, you should be hyped to be a core part of a software team, ideally have done a decent bit of coding in the past, pay attention to the sector, and maybe have some hobby projects where you're hands-on. You should be very comfortable working directly with software engineers with the ability and appetite to open up code repositories, look at merge requests, and other technical areas gain a detailed understanding of current state and progress.
