We are hiring six Business Income Tax Quality Review Specialists (Revenue Tax Specialist III’s) for our Business Processing Division (BPD), BIT/WIT Quality Assurance unit in Springfield, Illinois. This position is responsible for conducting quality review of Business and Withholding taxpayer accounts processed by same and lower-level staff, providing highly technical assistance to improve processing efficiency and resolve taxpayer account problems, and participates in a variety of special projects and training of staff. Essential Functions

• Under general direction, develops quality review procedures and processes.
• Serves as a senior-level technical specialist providing analytical, procedural, and highly technical assistance to improve processing efficiency and resolve taxpayer account problems associated with the numerous tax laws administered by the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR).
• Participates in a variety of special project assignments, research projects and studies, and serves on test teams.
• Provides training for Business Processing Division employees related to Business and Withholding processing procedures, tax law changes, system updates, and other Division needs.
• Provides technical and consultative services to Central Processing Bureau (CPB) staff, information technology staff, taxpayers or their representatives, and others by interpreting statutes, rules, regulations, legal ruling letters, policy directives, procedural requirements, etc. as they relate to Business and Withholding Income Tax.
