The Senior Buyer is responsible for procuring supplies/services and ongoing monitoring of Procurement’s transactional operations. The Works closely with vendors and hospital leaders to ensure transactions and processes are aligned. Develops strategies to optimize procurement processes.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage recall notifications and internal communication process
Participates on assigned Value Analysis Work Teams
Collects, evaluates and compares pricing and other variables to perform cost analysis for the Purchasing Service Line Managers
Handles Backorders and Substitute product approvals and works on communication with Purchasing Service Line Manager
Participates in vendor discussions such as negotiations, in-services, reprimands and other necessary discussions
Manages and maintains consignment orders, replacement and all relevant tracking
Provide assistance and coverage with Buyers as necessary
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Requires walking for up to 8 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 8 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 4 hours at a time. Frequent fingering, handling and twisting and turning. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and hold approximately 30 pounds. Occasional reaching above shoulder level, bending, crouching, climbing stairs and ladders up to 30 feet and climbing stairs. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision, perceiving objects, scenery and print.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in business management, supply chain management, or related field.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
5 years of experience in procurement/ purchasing department. Healthcare industry preferred. Experience of setting up or running a function serving customer's needs (SLA-driven performance management). Supply chain analytics, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to determine and review complex requirements for systems. Strong collaboration and relationship management skills.
