Mobile Orderly

ABOUT VENTIA

Ventia NZ provides a full FM, outcomes-based service solution to Auckland City Council including open space, waste and sanitation along with hard and soft services under a hybrid self-delivered and sub-contracted model. Reporting to your team leader, as a orderly you will undertake a range of operational labour tasks on public highways, highway verges, public spaces and landscaped areas, including Street Cleansing and Town and City Centre Maintenance.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Ventia has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and motivated Mobile Orderly based in Penrose.

 

As a member of the sanitation and waste team you will be able to follow simple instructions and plans, to ensure the rapid and thorough removal using allocated plant and equipment of Detritus, Gum, litter and other materials throughout Auckland, but also ensure the highest level of attention to the cleanliness and sanitation services. You will also be flexible and be prepared to assist in the management of a 365day service.

 

This role will either cover the Morning Shift from 5 am to 1.30 pm or afternoon shift from 1.30 pm to 10 pm. Must be open to working on weekends!

 

Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• To drive and operate vehicles, plant and equipment as assigned
• Maintenance maintenance of Auckland council open spaces e.g. highway sweeping, clearing of leaves and litter, removal of fly-tipping, fly posting, and graffiti, and emptying of litter bins.
• Clearance to areas and sites of litter, refuse, dirt, furniture, leaves, weeds, faeces and animal carcasses.
• To wear company uniform and safety equipment as issued, in the correct way.
• To attend any training that is required for you to complete your job effectively and safely.

 

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate must have a full NZ driving licence for category of vehicle allocated. They will need to be able to use smart phone applications to monitor tasks and work flows.

 

They will need to have a basic understanding of Health and Safety along with hazard and risk management.

 

The ability to communicate effectively is essential to this role.

 

Experience Required:

• Experience in general maintenance in relation to highway sweeping, clearing of leaves and litter, removal of fly-tipping, fly posting, and graffiti, and emptying of litter bins
• Strong customer ethics, and a passion for keeping Auckland clean
• Experience of being outdoors in all weathers
• A willingness to try new things and get dirty                                        
• The ability to work overtime, weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work as part of a team or be motivated enough to work alone to a schedule
