Communities In Schools of Central Texas is seeking a qualified Mental Health Intern Coordinator as a part of a diverse and committed team of multi-disciplinary professionals. The Mental Health Intern Coordinator will promote and lead a strategic, collaborative approach to implement CIS’ project for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) grant entitled “Enhancing School Capacity to Address Youth Violence” at San Marcos High School (SMHS) and Rebound Disciplinary Alternative Education Program. Through this grant project, CIS will implement a multi-pronged strategy to provide the SMHS and Rebound communities with intensive, layered supports to meet the individualized needs of at-risk students through case management activities; lead the SMHS school community in the development of a school safety strategic plan that will guide resource identification and utilization; and coordinate and cultivate new and enhanced partnerships with community partners to help meet the needs of the campus communities.

This position is funded through a 3-year grant funded project.

What we offer:

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $4,575/mo. to $5,000/mo. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you'll bring:

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university
• Current active, unrestricted LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-S license in Texas
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in program management, supervision of interns, service delivery to children, adolescents and families; experience delivering social services within a school setting preferred
• Thorough understanding of how programs and services can meet a range of social, emotional, physical, and academic needs as well as knowledge of state, local, and federal laws impacting the lives of students and families\
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships to effectively collaborate with CIS staff, school personnel, and community and government partners
