Location:

This position is hybrid with three days a week in person at Denver International Airport. Additionally, evening, nights and weekend availability will be needed to accommodate installation and maintenance periods.

What You'll Do:

The DEN Public Art and Exhibitions Program Manager works closely with the Manager of Public Art and Exhibitions to curate exhibitions, lead art selection committees, coordinate installations, manage maintenance projects, create and execute art programs and tours among other duties. This role will work alongside the Manager to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials, commissioners, city and airport personnel, community members, design professionals, contractors, architects, engineers and commissioned artists, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality art projects that enhance the airport's customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes overall art goals at DEN, oversees the development of comprehensive art policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure proper application and implementation by managing the execution of the Public Art and Exhibitions programs.
  • Administers the overall financial operations of the art programs including development of the annual operating budget, monitoring financial activities, preparation of budget reports and justifications for executive management approval.
  • Manages complex public art and exhibitions projects to ensure the arts programs are achieving its goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a steward of the art collections at DEN. Continually monitor, maintain, and coordinate conservation, maintenance and repairs of the public art collection to ensure public safety, good, appearance, and proper operation with minimal downtime or visitor inconvenience.
  • Convene and manage selection panel meetings and facilitate the selection process for new commission opportunities according to the city’s public art policy.
  • Manage and facilitate art and exhibition program meetings such as construction meetings, site-visits and design team meetings, including drafting agendas, minutes and reports leading to the successful completion of commissioned and loaned art projects.
  • Acts as a spokesperson for the arts programs, advancing the primary mission and goals of DEN Arts.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with public officials, Denver city and federal agencies, and community groups to improve decision making capabilities and execute impactful arts programming.
  • Develops and prepares press releases, website content, promotional material and gives public presentations on behalf of the art programs.
  • Manage graphic design and print needs for programs.
  • Develop and manage calendar for rotating exhibition, public art installation and maintenance per the Public Art and Exhibits Master Plan and Annual Maintenance Plan.
  • Manage contracts for public art commissions, maintenance and exhibitions. Ensure project milestones are met in a timely manner per approved project schedules.
