Summary

HII–Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Technical Writer and Configuration Manager in support of Combat System Alignment (CSA) duties. This part-time role (up to 20 hours/week) will directly affect our naval warfighter by incorporating the systems engineering process, multidisciplinary teamwork, and product development needed to satisfy combat system user requirements. This position will support the US Navy’s surface weapon combat system In-Service Engineering Agent mission to conduct design reviews, system integration, test and evaluation, performance analysis software support, and installation planning and execution for the development and acquisition of new systems, the continuing spiral development of existing weapon systems, and the support of legacy weapon systems.

What You Will Do

  • Alignment documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, Combat System Alignment Manuals, Technical Alignment Procedures, etc.).
  • Support technical reviews and possible content creation of combat systems alignment documentation.
  • Support configuration control manager and Integrated Product Team (IPT) for combat systems alignment documentation.
  • Support implementation of government and DoD-adopted industry configuration management policies for requirements management, document management, change management, production and delivery, and configuration management of the performance, functional, and physical baselines over the weapon system life cycle.
  • Support planning, execution, and participate in program design reviews, technical meetings, and working groups as applicable to provide configuration management perspectives and resolve any configuration management issues.
  • Participate on government and industry teams to resolve program configuration management issues.
  • Aid with the development and coordination of program configuration and data management requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
  • Applicant must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Configuration control experience managing program documentation, program records, program history, meeting minutes and action items, proposals, deviations, and waivers.
  • Experience supporting program technical reviews and functional and physical configuration audits.
  • Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards or their equivalent.
