Summary/objective

The Athletic Trainer provides clinical support in a high-volume practice of an orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement of hips and knees. The position is responsible for a wide variety of clinical and clerical duties.

 

Essential functions

  • Assists patients to/from clinic areas
  • Assist physicians during office visits
  • Scribe patient information into the EMR system
  • Retrieve patient information from EMR system
  • Conduct preliminary patient evaluations
  • Communicate information with patients as directed by physician
  • Provide appropriate patient education regarding injuries
  • Manage and prioritize phone calls and electronic communication
  • Schedule patient testing
  • Obtain prior authorizations

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi task effectively
  • Highly organized 
  • Able and willing to handle high patient care volume on a daily basis 

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a physician office in a clinical capacity
  • Athletic Training degree and valid state license

 

Work environment

  • This position is performed in a typical, professional medical office setting

 

Travel

  •  Travel between offices is required
    • Carmel Office - 4 days a week 
    • Mooresville or Greenwood - 1 day a week
