Job Description:

TD Securities (USA) LLC seeks an oil & gas reservoir engineer for its Houston investment banking group. The incumbent will work with investment banking teams on Acquisitions & Divestitures, Strategic Advisory, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, and upstream/midstream projects across North America. The role involves collaborating with technical specialists, leading advisory mandates, and preparing business development materials related to unconventional shale plays.

Experience:

  • Strong foundation in petroleum engineering, including reservoir analysis, field development, reserves, production, petrophysics, drilling/completions, facilities
  • Familiarity with engineering economics and Aries or similar software
  • Basic geology and mapping skills
  • Experience with US unconventional reservoirs
  • Proficiency in Spotfire, Enverus, public oil and gas data sources, and Microsoft Office; VBA is a plus

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (Petroleum preferred)
  • 1–3 years of industry or investment banking experience; petroleum engineering experience—reservoir focus preferred, drilling/operations/completions a plus.
  • SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 licenses preferred; must obtain if hired

Depth & Scope:

  • Advanced engineering, financial, and M&A modeling
  • Asset characterization integrating technical, commercial, and financial factors
  • Prepare client proposals, underwriting memos, and market research
  • Provide expert support for transaction structuring and marketing
  • Maintain confidentiality and stay current with industry and regulatory trends
  • Support a respectful workplace and adhere to TD policies
  • Demonstrate control and risk management behaviors
