About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.
Job Description
AECOM/Tishman has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Construction Project Manager for one of our large projects in New York City.
- Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
- Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor.
- Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training.
- Employee handles some unusual situations independently.
- May interface with design team.
- May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
- May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
- Assists with and monitors change orders.
- May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
- Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
- Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
- Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
- May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Engineering and 2 years of relevant construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree in civil engineering or similar curriculum.
- Experience in contract documentation such as change orders, submittals, procurement, contract management, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.
- Microsoft Project and BlueBeam.
- Experience in construction on a large infrastructure project.
- Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $36.70/hr - $67.89 (non-exempt).
