At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As a member of our engineering team, you will contribute to the development, operation, and maintenance of state-of-the-art space vehicle and rocket engine component test facilities, with a specialized focus on data acquisition and control systems. You will work cross-functionally with customers, test operations, and design teams to ensure robust software and hardware configurations while maintaining facility test cadence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, upgrade, and validate test stand data acquisition (DAQ) systems—including hardware assembly, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support for test stand instrumentation: generate and update harness/interface drawings, electrical power schematics, and data/control documentation. Offer mentorship, training, and hands-on troubleshooting to both technicians and engineers.
  • Lead instrumentation and control system integration activities: design, review, fabricate, install, and functionally check wire harnesses, components, and instrumentation at test stands.
  • Develop and maintain software configuration files, test scripts, and formal test procedures.
  • Create and enhance LabVIEW console GUIs for instrument control and data monitoring.
  • Monitor and verify instrumentation health/performance on test stands and test articles by reviewing and analyzing test data.

We seek candidates who bring technical expertise, leadership ability, and an uncompromising commitment to quality—positively impacting the safety of human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is essential!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, with combined software/hardware development experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in industrial or aerospace control system design or operations.
  • Proficiency in electrical circuit design using CAD-based schematic and panel layout tools (preferably AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Skilled in using electrical diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot instrumentation and control circuits.
  • Experience programming in at least one language: Python, PLC Ladder Logic, or LabVIEW.
  • Demonstrated expertise in signal integrity, including noise reduction, shielding, and analog/digital filtering for high-fidelity measurement systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with video monitoring systems (e.g., webcam, 3G-SDI, high-speed, infrared).
  • Familiarity with advanced instrumentation such as static and dynamic pressure sensors, cryogenic temperature sensors (silicon diodes or RTDs), LVDTs, and accelerometers.
  • Experience developing or troubleshooting NI LabVIEW systems or PLC controllers with OPC communications (preferably Allen-Bradley).
