About the role

General Summary:

Performs a variety of advanced functions related to the operations of the Human Resources department.  Provides support to customers regarding Human Resource issues. Oversees the operations of the Human Resources department in the Director’s absence. Assists in the coordination and implementation of various Human Resource programs or projects. Serves as the primary point of contact for the Financial Software upgrade.

 

Essential Duties:

Oversees the entering and checking of pay.  Assists customers regarding Human Resource issues. Oversees new hire orientation and assists as needed. Creates purchase orders, payment authorizations, and requisitions, as needed. Responds to salary surveys. Assists in ensuring that all positions are properly classified. Maintains job descriptions and documentation of reclassification and/or departmental changes. Administers and monitors FMLA procedures. Assists in managing insurance contracts. Oversee the retiree insurance program/payments. Reconcile departmental reports. Assists in the administration of open enrollment.  Coordinates Internet/Intranet website additions and updates. Trains new employees. Responsible for communications to employees and retirees regarding employment laws, insurance, pay, retirement, benefits, etc. Creates and runs various reports as needed. Ensures employment practices and policies follow legal, federal and state guidelines and recommend revisions as appropriate. Assists HR Director in developing and monitoring departmental goals, performance measures, and budget. Verifies and signs Personnel Action Forms in the Director’s absence. Assists with the budget process. Oversees the ordering of supplies and equipment. Assists the HR Director, as needed. Process pre-employment screenings as necessary. Assists with the drug and alcohol testing program. Provides Workers Compensation assistance. Assists with the administration of the Service Award Program.

Education

 

Required:

High School graduation or its equivalent.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

 

 

 

Experience

 

Required:

Five years of Human Resources or related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

 

Typical:
