Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

Job Summary:
Western Midstream is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the financial reporting team located at its headquarters in The Woodlands, TX. This position will assist in the preparation and review of SEC filings for Western Midstream Partners, LP (NYSE: WES) and Western Midstream Operating, LP.
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in financial reporting with an understanding of SEC and U.S. GAAP regulations.
- Experience with Workiva or an equivalent financial reporting system is preferred.
- Candidate should be detail oriented, able to work independently, and resolve issues through effective oral and written communication skills.
- Understand objectives and guidelines for company projects and effectively interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures.
- Ability to recognize problems and offer proactive solutions, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and complete tasks in a timely manner is mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements (Form 10K, Form 10Q, and Form 8K), earnings release information, and other required regulatory filings.
- Participates in the documentation, tagging, and preparation of XBRL documents.
- Analyzes and prepares detailed documentation to support disclosures in regulatory filings.
- Analyze and review financial statements and other financial information prepared by the financial accounting department to confirm accuracy and/or identify and resolve issues for financial reporting/GAAP compliance.
- Prepare analysis of financial statement disclosure best practices.
- Assists in completion of GAAP and SEC checklists.
- Coordinates with accounting, operations, and finance departments to obtain or support information included in the financial statements.
- Assists in developing or updating of internal control documents, assessment and review related to department activities.
- Participates in accounting, audit and other special projects as required.
- Assist with internal/external customer/auditor inquiries.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or Business Administration
Certification/Licenses:
CPA is preferred
Relocation:
This position is not eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements:
Travel required for this position is 0-5%.
Work Schedule:
This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
