Position Summary

Harbinger Health is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Architect to visualize and build the data framework and assets for Harbinger Health’s digital cloud foundation in AWS.  Working in close collaboration with our Cloud Architect, you will align the data architectures and deployments with our enterprise architecture, scientific and business strategy and implement standards for our data solutions. You will ensure the access, performance and security of our data systems and applications adhere to SLT’s, information security and privacy standards. You will report to the Senior Director / Head of IT and collaborate with Data Science, Research, Clinical and TechOps to lead the overall architecture design and deployment of data products to advance the goals of Data Science, Bioinformatics and Machine Learning. You will also collaborate with other lines of business to provide data marts and analytical tools to support their operations.

In this position, you will operate with high independence and act as the primary expert within own field and scope. You will lead and complete highly complex tasks with no or minimum supervision.  You will design the blueprints, enablers and platforms for data products that accelerate the business, operations, and in-silico experimentation. Data products often rely on advanced digital technologies such as machine learning, big data and visualization. Robust platforms and correct pipeline configurations are critical for the validity of our products and the effective execution of digital science.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee data architecture vision & modeling efforts using industry data platforms (Snowflake, cloud-native (AWS) and related cloud data products) including the design of data structures and the development of business transformation logic.
• Analyze and translate business requirements into conceptual and detailed logical data models, blueprints and roadmaps for enabling data products.
• Ensure compliance with data quality standards, privacy, and security policies within the highly regulated health and life science environment (HIPAA, PHI, PII)
• Create logical data models based on existing applications and databases.
• Transform the logical to physical representation and work with vendors, contractors, and team members to instantiate and manage the data.
• Build and maintain target architectures for new data products including database design, data processing, and data integrations. Accelerate adoption of the latest technology trends within the cloud and big data solutions.
• Stay current on technology trends such as database technologies, high performance computing, infrastructure as code and communicate their value and applicability to the team.
• Scope and develop proof of concepts to demonstrate feasibility of new data driven solutions.
• Responsible for the development of on-prem and/or cloud native RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL/NoSQL)
