Job Description
The Senior Manager, HRIS (Workday) will be responsible for the overall strategy, implementation, and management of the Workday Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role will collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, and business leaders to ensure Workday effectively supports business needs, enhances user experience, and drives automation and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workday, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvements and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the HRIS team in the configuration, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of Workday modules, including Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Performance, Absence and Reporting.
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for Workday, ensuring alignment with business goals and HR priorities.
- Partner with HR, IT, and Finance stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and system enhancements.
- Oversee system security, data integrity, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage Workday release updates, ensuring thorough testing, impact assessment, and successful deployment of new features and functionality.
- Drive reporting and analytics capabilities within Workday to support business decision-making and workforce planning.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HRIS professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary liaison between HR, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless system integration and support.
- Develop and deliver training and change management initiatives to drive system adoption and user engagement.
- Stay updated on Workday best practices, trends, and emerging technologies to improve system capabilities continuously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of HRIS experience, with at least 5 years focused on Workday.
- Proven experience leading Workday implementations, optimizations, and system management.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Expertise in Workday configuration, business process design, reporting, and security administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of developing and mentoring teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business solutions.
- Workday certifications are a plus.
Additional Information
Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000 to $170,140. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).
For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $157,500 to $212,670. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
