Position Overview

Adaptive is seeking a thoughtful scientist who is enthusiastic about statistics, genetics, epidemiology and improving human health. We are looking for someone who excels at data analysis, statistical modeling, and communicating results to diverse audiences. 

You will join a highly collaborative Computational Biology group that conducts analyses to support key decisions within the company and for our clients. Outstanding candidates will have demonstrated the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• With some guidance, perform thorough analysis of data.
• Proactively work with scientists to identify opportunities and needs for datasets.
• In collaboration with scientists, develop/acquire scripts and tools to analyze and display data for external clients .
• Perform quick and thorough analyses of DNA sequencing data to understand outliers, perform QC, make descriptive figures, and address key statistical questions 
• Present results to a wide variety of stakeholders, from wet lab scientists to clinicians to executive team members 
• Be a problem solver: communicate well, ask questions, proactively eliminate bottlenecks, and be the person people go to when they want a job done right 

Position Requirements

Required

• PhD; or
• MS/MA degree +8 years of relevant experience

Preferred

• Experience managing, manipulating, interpretating large datasets.
• Experience recognizing anomalous and inconsistent data points.
• Basic knowledge in at least one scripting language, such as Python or R
• Ability to consider outcome when designing analysis and assimilate findings with related dependencies
• Communicate project and status updates independently
• Experience delivering technical material at department meetings

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,000 - $144,000

Other compensation elements include:

• equity grant
• bonus eligible
