About the role
Specialist IS Architect – Workday Recruiting & Talent Performance
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture vision and strategy for the Workday and Eightfold platforms, ensuring alignment with business and HR transformation objectives.
- Define and maintain the architectural roadmap for Recruiting, Talent Performance, and related HCM capabilities, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, design principles, and governance frameworks for Workday configurations, integrations, and workflows.
- Partner with HR, Talent, and IT stakeholders to analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, configurable Workday solutions.
- Lead end-to-end solution design for Recruiting, Talent, and associated modules — including Job Application, Offer, Employment Agreement, Performance Reviews, Goals, Career Development, and Skills.
- Oversee Workday configuration strategy across Recruiting and Performance, ensuring cross-module integration with HCM, Compensation, and Integrations.
- Evaluate and recommend new capabilities and emerging technologies to enhance the HR and Talent ecosystem, particularly around talent intelligence and automation.
- Identify and mitigate architectural and design risks, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with enterprise standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including architectural diagrams, data models, and integration maps.
- Support Workday report and calculated field development, ensuring data accuracy and performance alignment.
- Drive continuous improvement through architectural optimization, configuration reuse, and simplification of complex business processes.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Architects, and HR leaders to ensure seamless delivery of enhancements and new capabilities.
- Guide solution validation, design reviews, and impact assessments for all major releases and platform changes.
- Provide thought leadership on Workday Recruiting and Talent Performance best practices, ensuring the platform evolves with organizational needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master’s degree and 4–6 years of IT or Computer Science experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 6–8 years of IT or Computer Science experience OR
- Diploma and 10–12 years of IT or Computer Science experience

Must-Have Skills
- Strong architectural design and modeling expertise, with ability to translate HR strategies into scalable system solutions.
- Proven experience in solution design and business process reengineering within a regulated environment.
- Hands-on configuration experience with Workday Recruiting and Talent Management processes — Job Applications, Offers, Employment Agreements, Performance Reviews, Goals, Career Development, Talent Reviews, and Skills.
- Expertise in Workday Reporting, including creation of complex calculated fields and data models.
- Cross-functional understanding of Workday HCM, Compensation, and Integrations, ensuring unified data flow and process orchestration.
Business Architecture Competencies
- Business Strategy Alignment: Ensure Workday capabilities support long-term HR and enterprise goals.
- Process Reengineering: Identify inefficiencies and design optimized business processes leveraging platform automation.
- Non-Functional Design: Incorporate scalability, performance, reliability, and security into architectural blueprints.
- Organizational Change Management: Drive adoption and transformation initiatives tied to new HR and Talent capabilities.
- Partner Engagement: Build strong relationships with HR, IT, and vendor partners to ensure delivery success.
- Security and Compliance: Apply deep understanding of API security standards and data privacy requirements.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Strong solution design and problem-solving capabilities across complex HR landscapes.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging HR tech (AI, analytics, talent intelligence).
- Proven experience in developing differentiated, business-ready solutions aligned to enterprise architecture goals.
