Job Description

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for managing shipments/inventory, organizing and delivering materials to studio build sites and providing occasional assistance with studio build projects.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Check and receive incoming material shipments and transport them to designated 
departments/ personnel/ destinations as well as prepare materials for outbound shipment. 
• Reserve/ retrieve/ deliver required materials for specific jobs and alert management of 
inventory/materials issues that may affect job deadlines. 
• Manage correspondence, provide reports and maintain proper records of inventory as 
well as ensure safe keeping and organization of inventory/materials. 
• Make recommendations for purchases and warehouse orders as well as create procurement tickets (subject to managerial approval). 
• Track and manage procurement tickets in Jira system and keep management informed of progress, issues, delays, etc.  

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Gain familiarity with TechOps related gear, procedures, nomenclature, systems, etc.
• Work autonomously to plan/accomplish TechOps related tasks
• Occasionally assist with studio builds and ongoing maintenance as needed.
• Replace colleagues during their vacations, sick leave and other absences.
• Be available to render assistance during critical situations.  
• Perform other duties, as asked by the manager, which are related to this position.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements and Competencies:

•    Prior warehouse / inventory / procurement experience highly preferred 
•    Prior experience with inventory control (or similar) software preferred
•    Ability to work autonomously to plan/accomplish tasks
•    Secondary (higher, technical) education and/or relevant work experience
•    Basic skills with the operation of standard tools (both hand and power);
•    Experience with wiring and cabling of electrical/electronic components is an asset
•    Basic computer skills (e.g. email, instant messaging, MS Office or similar apps, etc).
•    Punctuality, reliability and experience working with a team.
•    Willingness and ability to occasionally travel (within North America and abroad). 
•    Willingness to work overtime when required and to be “on-call” for emergency situations. 
•    Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
•    Effectively communicate in English, both written and oral forms.  Ability to interpret and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
•    Must have reliable transportation to work as well as a valid driver’s license.
•    Participation in an on-call system to respond to (infrequent) emergency support requests
•    Carrying of a company-provided phone as a direct and reliable means of contact
•    Ability to contribute extra hours outside of regular weekly working hours in order to deliver on tight deadlines.
