Seconds count in an emergency, and the caregivers of South Pointe Hospital are ready to offer immediate, 24/7 attention for traumas, significant injuries and other concerning health issues. As an RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering this exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply their families with healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. 

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00pm - 7:30am.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

• Educate patients and their families.   

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.  

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). 

• One-year of current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department experience. Will consider military RN experience. 

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year of hire. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
