At the Specialty Clinic, we are committed to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of all residents. As one of the primary points of contact for our department, our Senior Clerks play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals receive the care and support they need.

 

• Greet and assist visitors with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the health department.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
• Schedule appointments for clients using our Electronic Health System.
• Verify insurance coverage and assist clients with insurance-related inquiries and screening for the Sliding Fee Discount Program.
• Collaborate closely with other staff members to ensure seamless coordination of services.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and EXCEL
• Able to change easily from one task to another
• Relate well to different people from varied backgrounds and different situations
• Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of responsibilities in a timely, efficient manner

 

Qualifications:

Minimum-

• Valid driver’s license
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must obtain Incident Command System (ICS-100) certification within 60 days and National Incident Management System (IS-700) certification within 90 days of employment.
• Must complete the Family Planning Title X mandatory trainings within 30 days of employment 

 

Preferred-

• Experience working in a clinical setting.
• Experience verifying insurance coverages.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese
