Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more.

Job Summary:

The GitOps Assoicate will drive our Kubernetes implementation, ensuring scalability, reliability and efficiency across our critical services. The ideal candidate will have experience in Kubernetes, GitOps workflows with Flux and Kustomize, and the Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stack.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design, deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters using Sidero Omni
  • Implement GitOps workflows using Flux to manage cluster and application configurations
  • Oversee monitoring, alerting and dashboarding using Prometheus and Grafana to ensure platform health and performance
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand application needs and provide appropriate infrastructure solutions
  • Ensure security best practices are adhered to within the platform infrastructure

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Familiarity with Flux for GitOps workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring with Grafana and Prometheus stack.
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, specifically with GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of networking, security, and automation in cloud and containerized environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot dense, complicated situations to get at the root cause
  • Adherence to industry best-practices / standards
  • Good documentation habits
  • Self-motivated, team-player
  • Excellent oral and written skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Experience with Omni Multi-Cluster/Cloud Kubernetes Solutions
  • Proficiency in implementing Kubernetes security best practices
  • Experience optimizing Kubernetes clusters for performance
