The Senior Analytical Consultant position was created to enhance our analytical and reporting capabilities that convey plan performance. This position is responsible for managing select accounts while supporting the Benefits Department initiatives with regular and ad-hoc projects as needed.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, analyze, review, and finalize the following:

    • Monthly utilization and claim analysis

    • Underwriting analysis

    • Large claim analysis

    • Multiple year rate/claim history

    • Contribution modeling

    • Plan design modeling / claim impact

    • Healthcare reform analysis (affordability)

    • Wellness plan impact on claim analysis

  • Review Associate Analyst deliverables, review with Producers prior to presentations, and complete ensuing modifications

  • Participate in presentations in client meetings with Producers

  • Act as escalated contact for project difficulties, hurdles, etc.

  • Develop relationships with carrier & senior client contacts

  • Create plan design modifications for self-funded clients and conceptual insured plans

  • Fully manage assigned book of business

  • Research, obtain data, review, and analyze new business prospects

  • Modify core deliverables and projects to keep in line with industry trends, with overall goal of increasing client understanding

  • Assist with evaluation of vendors, carrier-partners, and service-providers

  • Train new hires and teammates on relevant tasks and projects

  • Explain work products internally to teammates and externally to clients as needed

  • Liaise with Actuarial contact on financial projections, re-projections, state filings, etc., for their book of business

  • Participate in carrier-provided informational sessions as scheduled

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain 2-15 insurance designation within first 6 months

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-10 years of equivalent experience

  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, & presentation skills

  • Effective time management, critical thinking, creative solution, & communication skills via phone, email, MS Teams

  • Excellent interpersonal & collaborative abilities while meeting project deadlines Routine or periodic travel is required; which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.  Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position
