Job Description
This key position provides Quality Engineering support to ensure delivery of the highest quality parts and products to the end customer. Leading the investigation, correction and prevention of component and product defects will be key responsibilities for this role.
- Manage rejected parts from production assembly - quarantine affected inventory, determine compliance with documented specifications using metrology or other methods, investigate root cause, determine disposition, and contact suppliers or internal stakeholders as necessary to permanently resolve the issue
- Analyze rejected part data to identify trends and develop continuous improvement plans by item, category, or supplier
- Lead Buehler’s metrology and instrument calibration program, including maintaining and operating dimensional measurement equipment
- Review Supplier First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR’s) from suppliers and develop action plans as determined by the results
- Review Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) from Engineering and provide feedback
- Collaborate with the Production and Engineering teams to investigate customer quality issues
- Participate in continuous improvement and regulatory projects
Qualifications
- BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and minimum 3 years’ quality or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with electro-mechanical assemblies
- Proactive approach, high sense of urgency and preventive mindset to identify and prevent defects as early in the process as possible
- Strong collaborator and able to partner with key cross functional teams such as: Engineering, Production Assembly, Procurement and Product Management
- Customer focused, understanding the criticality of maintaining excellent Quality, On Time delivery and cost
