Description
The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Research Associate positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include scientific research in the field of pulmonary medicine with a focus on experimental design, implementation and preparation of scientific papers, grants writing and grant proposals.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work on research in the field of adoptive T cell transfer for the treatment of fibrosis and cancer.
Candidates will have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research. This position requires experience in: cell culture, animal models of disease, generation of CAR T cell constructs, preparation of lentiviruses and retroviruses, generation of human and mouse T cells, advanced imaging skills, and advanced flow cytometry skills. The preferred candidates will have opportunities to prepare and submit manuscripts, write grants and will be mentored by senior faculty members of the division.
