Director, Distribution

Job Description

The Director of Distribution is responsible for cultivating effective relationships with existing distributor partners and Aramark Food and Facilities operators across a large region. This position manages all dimensions of the Aramark business and distribution relationships within the assigned geography. The Director of Distribution will deliver expertise on Key Performance Indicators, Product stocking, Food Safety, Vendor set up, Customer Service, Weather events, Compliance etc. They will use this expertise to support all Aramark Business Units.

 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• First point of contact for all Aramark Food and Facilities operations and Distributor Partners.
• Provide customer service to Aramark managers as required.
• Lead all strategic distribution decisions for a large geography.
• Manage day to day relationship with Aramark Field Operations and Distribution Partners
• Evaluate Distributor Key Performance Indicators and target opportunity locations.
• Work cross functional with Aramark internal teams to collaborate and create strategies that maximize value for operations.
• Participate in Supplier Meetings and work with both supplier and distributor partners to drive efficiency.
• Manage Vendor set up process through the myVendor application.
• Review and ensure all Food Safety Documents are complete and up to date. Understanding of Certificate of Insurance and Vendor Warranty documents.
• Have a data focused mindset that utilizes data to make sound business decisions.
• Strong collaboration with all levels of Aramark Business Leaders across all Business Units
• Take lead in managing a specific distribution contract.
• Manage all New Item Request with Distribution Partners
• Ensure product catalogues are compliant.
• Oversight of on-boarding new distributors and Aramark Managers
• Manage product recalls and weather-related events that could impact business
• Supply Chain Lead on New Account Opening Mobilizations
• Conflict resolution, candor and a “can do” mentality is important for the role

 

Manage Existing Distributor Relationships – Ensure longstanding partnerships with distributors.

• Conduct multiple business review meetings with key focus markets.
• Periodic business reviews with other distributors
• Periodic Travel to strengthen relationships, address issues, evaluate new opportunities for growth.

 

Manage Distributor Agreements

• Ensure adherence to the terms of existing distributor agreements.
• Evaluate extending contracts to other existing distributors.
• Evaluate use of contract with new distributors

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent years’ experience

 

Years of Relative Experience

• Minimum 10 years of Foodservice experience in manufacturing, distribution, and/or operations
• 10 years’ experience overseeing distributor relationships. Experience in contract management is a plus.

 

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10-15%, all modes of transportation
• Travel to: Corporate meetings, distributor meetings, trade shows

 

 

Work Environment. This job operates in an office setting at Aramark HQ. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and tools.

Physical Demands. This is a sedentary role with light lifting needed.
