Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
As a supervisor for our Planning/Scheduling Team, you will lead a team of approximately five to six planners/schedulers who are responsible for:
- Promoting a safe work environment using a process safety mindset.
- Reviewing work order backlog to identify work to be planned by priority, equipment downtime, and business needs (weekly at minimum).For backlog work orders identified as requiring planning: perform field walk, fill out field scoping checklist, determine and address job needs, and develop job plan document.
- Identify parts needed for repairs and forward information to Parts Coordinator for order placement (maintain two-way communication to obtain ETA and for notification when parts arrive).
- Identify scaffold needs and coordinate build and demo (Schedule and attend walks, submit build / demo RWP’s).
- Identify repairs requiring Grade A / B walk (Notify scheduler that walk needs to be set up, attend walk, complete additional planning needs identified on walk, if any, and submit post walk revised PTP for approval. Notify scheduler once approved).
- Identify LOTO needs and work with Operations / Engineering to develop plan.
- Identify Contractor needs (Rescue Services, Field Service Tech, etc.) enter FOM Order Request, obtain approval, and notify scheduler once job is planned so that coordination can be performed for timeslot that job is scheduled.
- Identify coordination / support required from other groups (Electrical, Maintenance, GCS, etc.) and notify scheduler once job is planned so that coordination can be performed for timeslot that job is scheduled.
- Identify special tools needs for repairs and reserve at FOB, arrange for rental, or have Parts Conductor order (if not owned by FOM and approval to purchase is obtained).
- Identify required PPE and document on job plan for repair.
- Review the PM forecast for parts needs and work with Parts Conductor to make sure that parts are on-hand and available at time that PM is to be performed.
- Develop electronic equipment files for all planned jobs for future reference.
- Training, executing, and ensuring compliance to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintaining and improving existing Standard Operating Procedures including the Certification documentation and process.
Additionally, you will:
- Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for each member of the Planning/Scheduling team through a collaborative career mapping approach that also supports Samsung’s organizational objectives.
- Lead conflict resolution within a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration across the team, department and company.
- Support the team to prioritize daily tasks, approving and prioritizing external support requests.
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required
- 2-year degree preferred, or commensurate 4-year work experience minimum.
- 4+ years of experience as an industrial facilities planner/scheduler.
