Job Description

Purpose:  Provide critical support to engineering teams in an R&D Setting.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust database systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Oversee the management of data sources, including change data capture and data protection measures.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to optimize database performance and resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and align database solutions accordingly.
  • Independently design and implement highly available and scalable database architectures.

Working in a hybrid setting in our Durham, NC is preferred but remote in the Eastern or Central Time zones will be considered.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and 5 years experience, or equivalent
  • MUST HAVE AWS RDS and Postgres experience and Advanced proficiency in SQL programming
  • In-depth knowledge of database management systems and their architectures.
  • Familiarity with advanced database concepts, including partitioning, indexing, and clustering
  • Extensive experience in database administration, including expertise in database design, performance optimization, and scalability.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Oracle, Mongo, SQL Server preferred.
  • Database migrations would be helpful
