Maintenance Technician I
 

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for performing installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing, and documentation/logs of a wide variety of office utility and facility equipment used in manufacturing, utility plants, analytical labs, and office areas of a Fill Finish Drug Product Plant in our Headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA.

  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing, and documentation/logs of process and utility equipment.

  • Carry out operations, maintenance, and repair activities on utility equipment and systems that provide support for Manufacturing, Lab, and various building operations.

  • Specific plant systems include steam, chilled water, compressed air, and heating hot water.

  • Specific Manufacturing and Lab utility systems include clean steam, water for injection (WFI), process cooling water, process air, process gases, HVAC systems, walk-in cold rooms and freezers.

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, basic equipment repairs, and similar tasks with appropriate guidance and in accordance with procedures.

  • Complete quality and safety documentation and finish work in a safe, compliant, and timely manner according to planning and predefined schedules, minimizing impact to production while complying with GMPs, SOPs, and Amgen policies and regulations.

  • Work efficiently and productively to maximize the number of activities completed, with a focus on maintenance excellence.

  • Ensure that work is communicated appropriately to key stakeholders.

  • Ensure accurate completion of work order documentation within computerized systems.

  • Review maintenance reports, forms, plans, and records.

  • Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement; communicate observations to the appropriate team members.

  • Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development to improve overall team performance.

  • Provide facility and manufacturing support as needed this may include working outside of normal hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Support the maintenance, operation, and repair of all systems, subsystems, and equipment within the Amgen Fill / Finish facility.

  • Support engineering and operations during installation, testing, operation, and maintenance activities for Fill Finish manufacturing and support equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate's degree​
OR

High school/GED + 1 year of utility operations, military experience,

work or military experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, or refrigeration systems.

  • Willingness to learn manufacturing, laboratory, and utility equipment such as lyophilizers, autoclaves, fill machines, and cold rooms, HVAC, Water Systems, etc.

  • Ability to perform general labor duties as needed and may be asked to work in various physical locations.

  • Knowledge and experience within a cGMP or other highly regulated environment.

  • Ability to learn and accurately document maintenance work orders in a computerized maintenance management system.
