Project Planner/Scheduler – EPC Projects
Are you a detail-oriented planning professional who excels at coordinating complex project activities and keeping teams aligned? Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Project Planner/Scheduler with our Substation Division (SSD) to support large-scale turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects by creating, maintaining, and communicating project schedules that drive successful execution.
In this role, you will play a vital part in coordinating engineering, procurement, and production activities, identifying scheduling risks, and ensuring project plans stay on track with customer and contractual requirements.
What You’ll Do:
Project Scheduling & Planning
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules for small, medium, and large EPC projects.
- Identify critical path activities, scheduling risks, and potential delays.
- Schedule engineering and procurement tasks utilizing project planning software.
- Facilitate project planning and scheduling sessions using best practices to improve execution efficiency.
Progress Tracking & Reporting
- Gather and analyze project information to prepare progress reports and performance summaries.
- Provide schedule updates and project status reports to customers, management, and cross-functional team members.
- Ensure the schedule meets customer expectations and complies with contractual requirements.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with engineering teams to expedite packages and document deliverables to keep scheduled work on track.
- Communicate with purchasing and production teams to identify items that need expediting to meet schedule deadlines.
- Review resource requirements across all active projects and make assignment recommendations.
Professional Representation
- Support the goals and professional image of the Department by collaborating effectively with customers, vendors, and internal MEPPI teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through accurate communication, timely responses, and proactive problem-solving.
What You Bring:
- Associate’s degree in a business or technical field with at least 3 years of experience creating and maintaining EPC project schedules, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling software and planning tools.
- Intermediate understanding of EPC scheduling practices and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Intermediate analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, relational databases, planning software, and reporting tools.
