Lighthouse Central Florida is seeking an experienced Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) to lead our Orientation & Mobility team while continuing to provide life-changing services to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative leader who is passionate about mentoring others, driving program excellence, and helping clients achieve greater independence.

What You'll Do

Lead, coach, and support a team of Orientation & Mobility professionals.
Manage team caseloads, performance conversations, scheduling, and workflow.
Provide high-quality Orientation & Mobility assessments and instruction in both center-based and community settings.
Develop individualized training plans that promote safe, independent travel.
Collaborate with case managers, families, schools, and community partners to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
Ensure timely documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality service delivery.
Participate in leadership initiatives, staff development, community outreach, and continuous program improvement

QualificationsWhat We're Looking For

Master's degree in Visual Disabilities or a related field.
Current Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS) certification.
Minimum of 3 years of professional Orientation & Mobility experience.
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Passion for mentoring staff and empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a Level II background screening.
Ability to maintain required professional certifications.
