Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall operation of the Banquets and Catering Sales department.
Responsible for hiring and development of personnel, labor analysis, cost analysis, budgets, long range planning, booking of all catering functions, and purchasing and maintenance of equipment. Performs assigned input work in compiling annual budgets. Prepares and coordinates the periodical performance reviews of assigned personnel. Develops and maintains high performing teams; achieves financial and company objectives; maintains facilities and high standards of cleanliness and efficiencies. Establishes and administers training programs. Direct the development and administration of controls for all phases of the banquet area in an economical and profitable manner while maintaining established standards. Supervises staff and ensures proper staffing levels in order to provide high standards of service with minimum labor hours.
Ability to evaluate client needs, conducts research and makes recommendations in order to assist clients in establishing requirements for banquet and catering needs. Works closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team in assessing needs for incoming groups and pricing menus and related expenses in order to facilitate the bidding for potential groups. Provides overall direction of the department, including planning, organizing, execution and evaluation of all banquet functions. Works closely with the Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef and Banquet Supervisor on execution of banquet events. Monitors appearance of food served and communicates deviations from standard. Makes frequent inspections to maintain proper standards of storing, handling and maintenance of banquet equipment; ensures that all functional areas are kept clean and in proper condition to provide a safe working environment for employees and guests. Makes suggestions on how to make the department more competitive by up-grading guest services and/or equipment, new methods of selling, as well as, up selling of menu and non-traditional use of space.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree preferred. Must have 3 to 5 years of previous Group and Banquet sales with proven ability to generate leads and convert to sales. Food and beverage or banquet operations experience.
Previous experience in developing and leading a team of workers to provide high quality guest service.
Is fluent on Microsoft Office software products, and is viewed as an outstanding team player. Is able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Is able to work in smoke filled environment, and is able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to obtain a “Non-Gaming” license through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
