Senior Software Engineer (Backend), Data and Growth

If you ever wanted to see how software can handle 22 million bets per month - why not join us?</p> <h2><strong>We're are looking for someone who has:</strong></h2> <p> </p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in a large scale production environment.</li> <li>Has experience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software in any object-oriented or Functional language</li> <li>A willingness to learn new technologies</li> <li>A talent for clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deployment</li> <li>A passion for working in the cloud and automation</li> <li>Experience working with distributed systems</li> <li>Experience building and improving upon observability</li> <li>A passion for creating user-centric, data driven solutions</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2><strong>Bonus points for:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience in AWS (Cloudformation, MSK, S3, Cognito etc..)</li> <li>An interest in Functional Programming</li> <li>Knowledge of Kafka</li> <li>Front end development experience in React/Vue.js</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Collaborating closely with geographically distributed engineering teams to design and implement scalable and robust software solutions.</li> <li>Enhancing the existing platform to increase the amount of business functionality driven by end-user configuration</li> <li>Enhancing system automation (scale, resiliency, deployment)</li> <li>Maintaining, enhancing and creating common platform components and libs (AWS, Erlang, Go, Kafka)</li> <li>Working with technical and non-technical stakeholders from the wider organization to understand and drive requirements and improvements across the platform</li> <li>Building on our CloudNative platform, enabling more use of AWS technology to aid in speeding up delivery, scale, and resiliency</li> <li>Building on our observability tooling and infrastructure to better understand the capabilities of our systems</li> <li>Growing the engineering community, building on the existing process and practices</li> <li>Leading initiatives and tasks and driving them to completion</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency.</li> </ul> <p> </p>
