Sr. Manager, Maps/Routing Engineering

SummaryWe are looking for an Engineering Manager to help lead and grow our Maps/Routing team at Gopuff. You should be a strong ‘people manager’ with a passion for coaching and developing engineers. You should be effective at building and cultivating healthy teams, helping your engineers to be both productive and happy. You will collaborate on high-impact projects with your team and other leaders in the broader Delivery Tech organization. The team’s projects include a high-performance C++ routing engine that produces millions of travel time estimations every day which influences dispatch decisions, customer ETAs, and delivery partner pricing. Also, machine learning infrastructure powers predictive modeling for customer ETAs, pickup times, drop-off times, trip durations, and more.

What We Are Looking ForExperienced leader with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, at least 1 year of that as a people managerProven track record of developing healthy teams with a people-first focusStrong desire to learn, teach, support, and collaborateStrong advocacy for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belongingExperience building backend systems with high availability and performance requirementsEmphasis on system observability and data-driven decision makingExcitement about providing convenience and rapid delivery to our many customers
Nice-To-HaveExperience with map data, vehicle routing, or other geospatial technologiesExperience with machine learning and predictive modelingExperience developing high-performance C++ applicationsExperience with gRPC services and protocol buffersExperience with Docker and Kubernetes clustersExperience with cloud services, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Experience developing batch and real-time data pipelinesExperience in delivery, logistics, or other mobility industries
