Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager / Practice Builder to grow our Land Development practice in Cincinnati, OH. 

 

As a Senior Project Manager / Practice Builder, you will:

Key Leadership Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute the vision for our Land Development practice, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation. 
  • Supervise and lead Land Development design projects, providing technical expertise and strategic oversight. 
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, positioning our firm as a trusted partner in the Land Development industry. 
  • Drive business development efforts, leveraging industry connections to secure new opportunities and expand market presence. 
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment. 
  • Ensure project profitability, resource allocation, and seamless transitions of work to qualified staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and expand practice teams for multi-discipline projects and programs of work in the fields of Land Development.  
  • Apply an entrepreneurial spirit to create a vision for growth in the local Land Development practice and beyond 
  • Leadership responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
    • Operating with integrity and sound business principals 
    • Providing vision, business planning, strategy and establishing goals 
    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships 
    • Having open communication with your partners and team 
    • Growing and leading a Land Development practice 
  • Management responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
    • Establishing and cultivating client relationships 
    • Making presentations 
    • Writing proposals and scope of work 
    • Establishing budgets 
    • Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work 
  • Our Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of civil engineering, design, and management of Land Development projects  
  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license  
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners 
  • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D  
  • Business development skills, proven ability to win work, and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work 
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills 
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems 
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
