Project Accountant

Description

 Coastal Mechanical, a commercial HVAC and Plumbing full service mechanical contracting company, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Accountant to join our growing team at our Melbourne Florida Corporate location. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading mechanical contractor in the construction industry. As a Construction Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our projects. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. *This is not a remote position.

Requirements

 Key Responsibilities:

- AIA billing

- Budget and Schedule of Value entry

- Owner Direct purchase order coordination

- Change Order Administration

- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices

- Track and analyze project costs and expenses, and provide regular reports to project managers

- Oversee project billing and ensure timely and accurate invoicing

- Reconcile project accounts and resolve any discrepancies

- Assist with year-end financial audits and tax filings

- Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies and  procedures

- Work closely with project managers to identify and resolve any financial issues or risks

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting preferred

- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles preferred

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing

- Experience with accounting Vista Viewpoint software a plus

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize

- Ability to work in a team environment and individually

- Detail oriented with accurate data entry skills

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  

Essential Functions:

• Ability to Read, Speak, comprehend, and write in English and Spanish

• Bending, Stooping, lifting up to 10lbs

• Able to ambulate through the building to interact with other departments

• Dexterity for office equipment and computers
