Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption.  Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Job Description

Come join our Early Drug Development Service - a multidisciplinary, research-focused team of solid tumor experts from across the institution. This is an exciting opportunity to manage patients on a portfolio of early phase, sophisticated clinical trials, participate in scholarly projects, and provide comprehensive care to patients in an APP-driven clinic environment.

 

We are seeking a Clinical Trials Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for our Early Drug Development Clinical Research team. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join a team of over 900 NPs and PAs across MSK who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert and comprehensive cancer care to patients and families. 

 

HOURS: Four 10 hours day shifts per week, flexed Monday-Friday

Location: New York City & Monmouth NJ

You will: 

  • Collaborate with designated physicians and research team members (consisting of the principle investigators, Clinical Research Coordinators, Data Managers and Nursing Staff) to develop and conduct clinical trials
  • Participate in the institutional review process, including the in writing/reviewing protocols
  • Screen patients for protocols, determining patient’s eligibility, participate in the informed consent process and provide education for patients considering enrollment or enrolled on a clinical trial
  • Clinical responsibilities include monitoring toxicities, assessing clinical responses and providing exemplary patient care while ensuring the protocol is conducted in a high quality manner in in-patient and out-patient settings

 You Are:

  • An experienced with a minimum of 1-2 years as an APP provider servicing inpatient and outpatient environments
  • Experience with Early Drug Development or Research is a strong plus
  • Willing and excited about participating in research based conferences, presentations, and publications 
  • Capable of anticipating and balancing the needs to multiple collaborators
  • Resourceful, securing and deploying resources effectively and efficiently
  • An effective communicator
  • Openly relatable and comfortable with diverse groups of people
  • Adaptable in approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations 

 

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR AN NP CANDIDATE ARE:

  • Current New York State (NYS) and New Jersey NJS RN and NP licenses/registrations
  • Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • A Minimum of 2+ years of clinical NP experience 
  • Related National NP certification
  • BLS/ ACLS certification
  • Previous Inpatient & Outpatient Oncology experience required,
