Schedule: 6:45AM-7:15PM or 6:45PM-7:15AM, Rotating weekends & assigned holiday team coverage

More about our team

Our 31-bed Cardiac Unit provides specialized, high-acuity care for patients experiencing acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and complex arrhythmias. The team manages patients throughout the continuum of care, including pre- and post–cardiac catheterization procedures, and administers and monitors cardiac drips. This fast-paced unit offers a collaborative environment where clinicians build strong cardiac care expertise while delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care.

How you'll contribute

A Patient Care Assistant (PCA) who excels in this role:

  • Performs basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
  • Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
  • Manages the tech desk and supports nursing/physician staff and overall department throughput.
  • Documents care and activities per unit standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; participates in performance improvement and required education.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional requirements include:

  • PCA/DCA , SRNA, or EMT Experience preferred but not required
  • Current BLS certification 
  • Handle with Care preferred
  • Interest in phlebotomy is a plus, and the facility offers phlebotomy training with an additional pay incentive.
