    Job Description

    The Director of Logistics is accountable for managing the logistics and impound recovery departments for Sixt Rent a Car's fleet of rental vehicles in North America. These departments focus on coordinating timely transportation of rental vehicles and recovering impounded vehicles efficiently. The role's success is measured by processing speed and cost-effectiveness in transportation and recovery operations.

    YOUR ROLE AT SIXT 

    • Oversee teams responsible for vehicle logistics and impound recovery, ensuring prompt, cost-efficient processing, and managing vendor performance to meet quality standards.
    • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance transaction speed, reduce costs, and ensure compliance, impacting an annual spend of $10M+.
    • Assess, select, and manage relationships with external suppliers, including transport companies, tow vendors, and roadside service providers.
    • Create and deliver reports and presentations to update the controlling department, executive management, and stakeholders on departmental performance.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and performance management for 2-3 direct reports, supporting an overall team size of 8-12.
    • Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and implement strategies that align with organizational goals

    YOUR SKILLS MATTER

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, with five or more years of experience in the car rental industry and/or Fleet Management.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, including three or more years of experience managing people and leading teams effectively.
    • Experience managing contracts with third-party carriers, optimizing freight costs, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Strong organizational skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel, and a proven track record of fostering collaboration, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
    • Energetic, success-oriented professional with a commitment to delivering results and exceeding expectations.
    • Must be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship, and able to work 40 hours per week.
