We are searching for a Warehouse Safety Coordinator to join our team in our Winchester, VA warehouse.
Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, but occasional evenings and/or Saturdays may be required.
Job Description
The Warehouse Safety Coordinator will work directly with the Facilities Manager to develop safety procedures to ensure the workplace is safe and compliant with all state and federal regulations. The Safety Coordinator will manage the documentation of safety-related training, processes and procedures, equipment maintenance, etc., and will be well-versed in OSHA standards.
Essential Duties:
- Safety Programs & Training
- Coordinates with the Training Manager to maintain all safety training programs including new hire orientation safety topics.
- Maintains documentation of training and retraining.
- Leads monthly safety meetings.
- Assists management with documentation and follow up on corrective action for any incidents and near misses.
- Collects department-led safety audits and will lead weekly discussions in safety audit meetings.
- Maintains annual safety training calendar.
- Communicates using bulletin boards, announcements, seasonal safety tips, etc.
- Maintains and updates all electronic & manual safety files, SOPs and documentation pertaining to safety regulations; OSHA regs. Manual(s), etc.
- Facilities Compliance and Maintenance
- Schedule/coordinate safety and security system maintenance.
- Coordination of vendors for building safety maintenance, acting as a liaison for management and external safety agencies, such as fire department.
- Tracks all equipment service timing, PMs, hours in use.
- Tracks physical security audits.
- Assist in updating SOPs for facility/security/etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Related experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, must be able to create presentations using PowerPoint
