Job Description:

Assists supervisor in day to day operation of kill and picking operations. Monitor birds exiting kill area and picking room, making necessary adjustments to equipment.

Job Synopsis:

Set kill and picking rooms up prior to shift commencing. This includes: filling salt canisters, placing grate in stunners, filling with water, activating foot spray, turn stunners and killers on, setting voltage on stunners. Checks to insure blade and rollers on kill machine are operating. Sets scalders to desired temperature setting(s). Sets pickers to “start point”, fills neck scalder. Monitors birds as they exit kill and picking operation at start up and through-out the day making adjustments as necessary. Relieve live hangers and back-up killer as needed. Maintain house-keeping in areas, SSOP requirements. Assist supervisor and fill-in for supervisor in absence.

**Must be able to read invoices, packing slips, records of materials, etc.
