  • Required Travel: Collaborative team across Endeavor Health Evanston and Northwestern University Streeterville work locations. Some statewide travel required; access to reliable transportation a must.

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, management and evaluation of initiatives and programs for the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative with the aim of equitably improving healthcare and outcomes and reducing disparities for birthing people and their babies across Illinois. Duties will include data monitoring, reporting, quality improvement support and education relative to identified quality metrics, planning, presentations, participation in and facilitation of meetings, project management, coordination with internal departments and external facilities, evaluating/analyzing, driving change and reporting results to stakeholders with all duties spanning the continuum of care. 

What you will do:

  • Provide nursing consultation to participating hospitals throughout Illinois, including providing technical assistance related to quality improvement strategies, responding to questions, and linking teams for collaboration. 
  • Review initiative data and look for trends, issues, and make project and hospital specific recommendations based on the data.  Provide nursing validation for continuing education credits.
  • Conduct site visits at participating hospitals and perinatal networks to meet with the quality improvement team and other key players responding to challenges hospital staff may be facing, review work plan progress, review data reports, and offer support materials as needed.
  • Develop webinar topics, solicit speakers, and facilitate webinars.  Follow up on issues raised on the webinar and respond to participants.  Send notes of thanks to presenters.
  • Draft written materials including tools to support the project, for example: project toolkit materials (e.g. provider, nurse, and patient education, clinical process flows, and checklists), quality improvement implementation and clinical engagement tools, reports of progress to funders, and presentation slides.
  • Coordinate advisory group, clinical lead, and other meetings—develop agenda and content and identify items for follow up/ development. Work with project co-leads as indicated and serve as liaison between staff and advisory group. 
  • Coordinate expert speakers and serve as liaison with speakers, schedule grand rounds, provide support materials, and tailor presentations to the site/audience.
  • Coordinate twice annual all collaborative meetings, facilitating contact hours, speaker communications, coordinating with vendors, developing internal agenda and other event planning duties as requested.
  • Research national guidelines and clinical issues as necessary, linking with professional groups or searching the literature for information. Stay current on project related information and IHI tools.
  • Collaborate with other ILPQC staff on various needs including staff meetings, recommendations for actions and next steps, response to inquiries, development of e-newsletters, correspondence, ideas for marketing, etc.
  • Serve as a project liaison with professionals and professional groups for engagement and partnerships.

What you will need:

  • Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years clinical experience in Obstetric or Neonatal clinical nursing experience. Quality Improvement experience preferred
  • License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of virtual meeting platforms, Microsoft Suite.
