Food Service Cashier Full Time Rotating Position Summary

Performs dietary cashiering function as primary responsibility and may perform other Dietary Attendant functions. Serves cafeteria food in an attractive manner, following specific standards for quality, safety, infection control, sanitation and the use of chemicals. Accurately handles cash transactions.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent customer service skills. Able to operate cash register and cafeteria equipment.

 

THE FOOD SERVICE CASHIER FULL TIME ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Six months experience in cash handling in a food setting.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: An unexpired Maricopa County Food Handler Care; or a valid card or certificate issued by an ANSI-accredited food handler training program; or a valid food handler card or certificate issued by another county within Arizona.

Promotes customer service and builds rapport with customers in cafeteria/coffee shop. Sets up cafeteria/coffee shop for service. Stocks cafeteria/coffee shop to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Operates cash register in cafeteria/Coffee shop. Checks all transactions/food orders (content and portion size). Maintains cleanliness of cafeteria/coffee shop. Performs case close-out procedures always following established procedures. Assures timely service in cafeteria/coffee shop. Chops, slices, peels, food items for special order foods. Functions as grill cook if needed. Adheres to all BHS safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards. Assure all foods are correctly labeled/dated/rotated when handled and put away. Transports food to other areas as needed. Operates, cleans, and sanitized dishes and necessary equipment. Sweeps/mops areas of the department.

Education:

Required: High school graduate or equivalent

Experience:

Required: 1 year food and/or customer service experience.
Preferred: Cashier experience

Certifications:

Required: Certified Food Handler based on city/state requirements.
