Position Overview

The Senior Paralegal serves the Law Department in a variety of legal, executive, and departmental duties to facilitate day-to-day activities. A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, problem-solving, timeliness, excellent communication skills, planning, minimal supervision, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required to be successful in this position.

Essential Responsibilities

General Paralegal Support

  • Assist in-house attorneys with day-to-day legal tasks, including document management, file organization, and maintaining legal databases.
  • Support Company litigation functions, including case management, discovery, and other litigation-related activities.
  • Support Company corporate governance and compliance functions for US entities, including maintenance of corporate legal books and records, annual regulatory filings, filing legal documents with relevant State agencies, and managing content modules in the Company’s Learning Management System.
  • Coordinate with internal business units to gather information and documents necessary for legal matters. Prepare, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Manage deadlines, calendars, and workflows to ensure timely completion of legal projects.
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.

Legislative and Regulatory

  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate summaries of proposed and enacted legislation, regulations, and agency guidance.
  • Conduct research on legislative history and regulatory background as requested.

Legal Research and Analysis

  • Conduct legal research using online databases and other resources to support attorney work product.
  • Compile and organize research findings in a clear and accessible format. Assist in the preparation of memoranda, reports, and other legal documents.

Department Support:

  • Manage administrative Law Department operations, including monitoring physical and electronic mail, organizing and maintaining legal files, onboarding and training new team members, and scheduling and coordinating trainings and meetings.
  • Handle administrative tasks for select members of Law Department, including processing travel requests and receipts, maintaining calendars and schedules, and performing other duties as may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience
  • Paralegal certification and/or professional experience working as a paralegal for at least three (3) years
  • Minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm
  • Must be a commissioned Notary Public in the State of Arizona or willing to obtain commission within 90 days of hire
