About the role

Description

Mackin Educational Resources, a leader in serving K-12 schools with print and digital media, is seeking a New School Services Project Manager. As a project manager, you will work with schools across the country as they plan and prepare for the opening of their library. 


Responsibilities

  • Project management and acting as liaison between internal and external parties
  • Creating and maintaining title lists relating to school libraries, curricular topics, and fiction genres. 
  • Customer assistance and support regarding orders, cataloging and processing of library materials, and other specialized services related to opening a new library.
  • Researching and evaluating leads and communicating with sales staff
  • Preparing proposals and bids according to requirements
  • Assisting customers and sales staff with a wide range of questions regarding new and existing orders and projects
  • Small possibility of travel on some projects
Requirements
  • Understanding of school and library practices
  • Strong interest in children’s and YA literature
  • Excellent research and both written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a group
  • Ability to manage several tasks at once
  • Ability to lead and problem solve
  • Customer service skills with a strong desire to help others

Education & Experience

  • MLS preferred, but a BA with library/school experience is acceptable. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel 

Hours

  • Full-time day hours (M-F).
