Warehouse Supervisor

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to optimize our Biopharma manufacturing organization.  This Morrisville, NC based role is full-time.

Minimum Education: Associate’s degree

Required Experience (2+ years)

• Team leadership, preferably within a manufacturing/ warehouse environment
• Overseeing the receiving, handling, storing, picking, packing, returns, and shipping activities within a warehouse.
• Proven track record in continuous improvement
• Project management / Proven experience in planning and organizing a project and its resources within a given constraint.
• Manufacturing Warehouse
• Planning, prioritizing, and coordinating department workflow to optimize customer service levels.
• Training, motivating, monitoring, and evaluating performance of warehouse associates in conformance to policies and procedures (SOP’s, work instructions).
• Investigating failure modes and implementing corrective/preventive actions accordingly.
• Resolving discrepancies regarding invoices, packing slips, and receipts.
• Monitoring the receipt of all materials into the receiving department.
• Ensuring materials are sampled and stored in an efficient manner.
• Experience with inventory managements systems

Preferred Experience

• Ensuring all activities are performed in accordance to written procedures, ISO9001 and cGMP’s.
• Utilizing industrial powered equipment
• Ensuring inventory is properly documented in computer system.
• Leading the site cycle count program.
• Overseeing the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.

• Ensure completion of all warehouse processes
• Be compliant with warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
• Coordinate and lead daily team activities.
• Perform the work of those they supervise on an as needed basis.
• Assist with management decisions and activities.
• Assist management.
• Monitor activity demands and proactively plan for future resource and facility requirements.
• Ensure safe operating of material handling equipment.
• Plan for product shipments to achieve customer delivery dates.
• Perform work functions as required by business demand.
• Work in partnership with the Production Planner and internal associates to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.
• Evaluate internal customer needs and respond with appropriate action/delivery.
• Maintain neat and orderly work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Although the associate primarily works in an office environment, while performing the duties of this job, the associate can be exposed to an industrial warehouse environment. The associate may work near moving mechanical machinery and/or vehicles and the noise level in the work environment can be loud. Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
